Frequently Asked Questions

+ I’d like to request an appointment, what should I do?

I’m so excited that you’d like to work together! To get started, please fill out the contact form and I will reach out to you so we can schedule a 15 minute discovery call, where we’ll chat about your needs and what treatment might look like together.

+ Do you take insurance?

I am out of network with insurance at this time. There are several reasons for this, including: being able to better provide telehealth services to folks all over the country, being able to adjust the rates of service for people who need reduced fees, and having the flexibility to provide care indefinitely instead of for a prescribed number of visits. Many of my clients have great luck submitting the receipts from our visits (called a superbill) to their insurance to get reimbursed. I can help you figure out if this is an option for you!

Please contact me to inquire about reduced fee services and checking your out of network insurance benefits.

+ I'm not sure if I have an eating disorder. How can I tell?

An eating disorder is a life-threatening mental health condition in which eating (or exercise) patterns and behaviors are causing severe and persistent disruption to your life. Behaviors may include: severe food restriction, binge eating, purging with laxatives or vomiting, and excessive exercise. These behaviors can pose an immediate risk to your physical health, and significantly impact your mental health.

Some folks may struggle with their relationship to food and exercise, and engage in disordered eating patterns, but their behaviors may not pose an acute risk to their physical health. This can still feel very distressing and still warrants specialized care, but may not fall under the diagnosis of an eating disorder.

Usually, your care team will ask you questions about your symptoms in order to make a diagnosis of an eating disorder.

If you believe you may have an eating disorder but have not been diagnosed, I can work with you and your care team to help you figure out what type of care may best suit your needs.

+ I am really interested in Intuitive Eating, but I still want to lose weight. Can we work together?

Totally! It’s pretty understandable that you might be hoping weight loss is the pot of gold at the end of the Intuitive Eating rainbow (because, diet culture). Most folks feel pretty conflicted about this when they’re at the start of their journey. Together we'll explore your thoughts about weight and your body, so that you can start to move away from diet culture and live more in line with your values.

+ What is your cancellation policy?

All appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time. Failure to do so will result in a cancellation fee. A no-show will result in being charged the rate of the full session. A credit card is held on file when booking the first visit.
