Eating disorder recovery

The world we live in makes it tough to feel safe around food. When your habits and beliefs about food start to interfere with your day-to-day functioning, this can develop into an eating disorder. Having an eating disorder is not your fault, and recovery is possible.

A dietitian is an important part of building your care team. I can help you with: Anorexia, Bulimia, Orthorexia, Binge Eating Disorder, or Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder (OSFED).

Our work will include: harm reduction, letting go of food rules, eating with more flexibility, responding to eating disorder thoughts, navigating difficult recovery days, and cultivating respect for and connectedness with your body.

intuitive eating coaching

We live in a “diet culture,” where dieting and thin-ness are glorified even if it comes at the cost of our health and well-being.

Because of diet culture, it’s common to feel like you’re at war with your body, that you can’t trust yourself around food, or to feel guilt or shame around certain foods.

Intuitive Eating (IE) is a different way to approach eating that allows you to learn about your body and heal your relationship with food. In practicing IE, you will become more connected to your body’s internal cues and make choices that come from a place of self-care instead of fear or obligation. I can help guide you through this process so it feels accessible and doable.

HAES™-aligned nutrition counseling for chronic conditions

Finding out you have a chronic condition-like diabetes, or PCOS-can feel scary. When you look up recommendations for your condition, you find tons of conflicting nutrition advice that feels overwhelming. You may have even tried multiple diets to feel better, but they left you feeling stressed about food and guilty when they didn’t “work.”

With weight-inclusive and non-diet counseling, we’ll take a different approach.

We’ll focus on things like adding foods that feel good, learning about your body’s unique needs and cues, and defining health on your terms.
